Getting there

Davao City has its own international airport (Francisco Bangoy International Airport) but we opted to take a flight from Manila. The travel took us about an hour and half. Maxima Aqua Fun

The most that we love about Davao is that tourist’s safety is guaranteed. By that we mean, we felt safe walking down the streets at night, exploring what the rest of the bustling city offers. We actually learned about the nearest restaurants and groceries by merely strolling around the area. The people were all accommodating.

Another is that prices of goods are cheap. It helped that we were 12 in the group as we were able to reduce expenses. We were able to save funds for our term papers.

The only negative thing we noticed is that tourist spots are situated far from each other. You will have to allot 2-3 hour travel time to reach each destination. For a day, you can visit only about two major attractions, and the rest for some stops.

Overall, Davao is one destination worth recommending especially to those who are travelling on a low budget. We spent about $140 for the entire trip which includes the accommodation and souvenirs, excluding air fares.
